Ijele

Ijele is a self-taught Nigerian artist born in 1978. She grew up in Lagos and began her professional career as a banker before transitioning into advertising, where she became a professional advertising and marketing expert over the years. After a dramatic shift of events during the COVID era, which ignited an innate desire to create, she embraced her passion and ventured into the realm of creative visual art, using oil as her major medium. Being a visual artist had always been her innermost desire as a profession.

She can be described as a metamorphic artist, using oil as her primary medium and drawing inspiration from nature and elements of tradition to convey the attributes of creation to the characteristics of life. Ijele’s works exhibit freedom, joy, happiness, and peace, referencing standards of truthful living as opposed to the world’s.

She acknowledges God as the forbearer and ultimate creator. As Ijele continues to explore through art, she looks forward to creating depth and dynamics in shaping the world to the word.
