1. What excited you about joining the Information Desk team?
I enjoy the people side of hospitality: talking to guests, understanding their needs and helping improve their experience. This role gives me a different perspective on hospitality, and no two days are the same.
2. How do you make guests feel welcome?
I smile, make eye contact and listen carefully. Some guests want a quick answer; others want a conversation. I read the situation and adapt to what they need.
3. What local experience would you recommend to a first-time visitor?
It depends on their interests. Our daily briefings help us share ideas, and I recently suggested pottery and jet ski experiences as options for guests looking for something different. I am always looking for new experiences they might enjoy.
4. How do you make a simple enquiry feel personal?
I remember the small things guests mention, such as their favourite food or activities, and use those details when helping them later.
5. How do you stay calm when handling several requests?
I listen, prioritise and handle requests in order. If guests need to wait, I ask politely. I want each person to feel attended to, even when the desk is busy.
6. What would you suggest to a guest with one free afternoon in Lagos?
I would first ask what they enjoy. For someone looking for good food and a relaxed lounge setting, I might recommend Mood Lagos based on my own visit. The best experience is one that suits the guest.
7. What makes the guest experience at The Wheatbaker stand out?
The attention to small things: remembering a conversation, anticipating a need or helping a guest feel comfortable. Those details make a difference.
8. How do you stay informed about places and experiences in Lagos?
Our daily briefings help us exchange recommendations. I also enjoy discovering restaurants and activities, then sharing useful finds with the team and learning more about them.
9. What strength do you rely on when helping guests?
I remember conversations well. Guests are sometimes surprised that I recall something they mentioned casually.
10. What is your favourite spot or design detail at The Wheatbaker?
KÓFÍ Shop is my favourite quiet spot. I especially love the book wall at the far end; it is unique and artistic.
11. How do you approach an unusual or complex request?
I clarify what the guest needs, check what is possible and speak with the right colleagues. I explore the options before saying no, and suggest an alternative when we cannot fulfil the exact request.
12. How do you recharge outside work?
I enjoy finding places to visit with friends, spending time with people close to me and having quiet time. A good nap, music and movies also help me recharge.
13. What three words describe your approach to guests?
Welcoming, approachable and attentive. A great smile is part of that welcome.
14. What do you hope to learn or achieve at The Wheatbaker?
I want to learn from colleagues across departments, become more confident with different guests and situations, and take on more responsibility as I grow.
15. What might guests and colleagues be surprised to learn about you?
I am taking French seriously: my phone is set to French, and I rarely miss my Duolingo practice. I also tend to remember unexpected details from conversations.
