1. How do you balance work and life?

Work, like raising a child or holidaying with family or getting a degree is an aspect of my life. When, I’m at work, I’m intentional about the work and all that it entails and so also when I’m about other aspects of my life. It’s all about being present and intentional.

2. What's your favourite quote?

Whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.

3. What are the best ways that leaders can support other leaders?

Seek to understand the leader’s vision. Interpret this vision to your own followers and get them to follow the leader as well.

4. How do you encourage honest, open employee dialogue?

Listen and understand. It is important to let your employees know that their opinions are valid and that they won’t be crucified for them.

5. At what stage of Leadership should you start thinking about the succession plan?

At the very start of your Leadership journey. This is done through communication and empowerment.

6. What leadership skill are you continually working on?

Emotional Intelligence- that ability to manage self.

7. What are the most important qualities you look for in a future employee and why?

Honesty, Accountability and The willingness to learn.

Why? So I don’t have to micromanage.

8. What has been one of your biggest Joys as a leader?

To see my junior colleagues grow into leaders themselves… internally and externally

9. What has been your biggest challenges as a leader?

When I can’t be the leader I should be to my junior colleagues because of organisational politics and bottlenecks.

10. What has been the greatest lesson you've learned?

Where there’s a Will, there will always be a Way. It is only a matter of time.
